Care for the Earth
God created our amazing planet and asked us to take care of it. It's a great honor and responsibility. So, what can you do to care for the earth? Find great ideas below. Also, search the suggested Web sites to learn more about our world and how we can care for it.
Great Ideas
  • Clean a Park
Meet a group of friends for a picnic, outdoor play, and a little time to make a park beautiful.
  • Plant a Tree
Trees are beautiful, and they help the environment. Have extra fun with this project by planting a tree that's about your height. Every year, you'll enjoy seeing how much you and your tree grow!
  • Choose Reusable Items
Reduce the amount of trash you throw away. Choose reusable items over disposable (washable napkins instead of paper, silverware instead of plastic, reusable containers instead of plastic sandwich and snack bags). Strive for waste-free lunches at school - and teach your friends!
  • Recycle
Many things that you use can be made into new (clean!) items. Learn more about recycling.
  • Use Recycled Products
Buy products made from post-consumer recycled materials. If we don't buy recycled products, the whole process of recycling is pointless.
  • Conserve Energy
Turn off the lights when you leave a room, turn off the TV when you're not watching it, and carpool.
  • Conserve Water
Don't leave the water running while you brush your teeth and take shorter showers
  • Avoid Wasting
Don't put more food on your plate than you can eat, and don't grab a handful of paper napkins if one napkin is enough - better yet, use a cloth napkin that you can wash and reuse!
