Smooth-Edged Blanket - This is the easiest way to make a no-sew blanket. Simply trim all four sides of your fleece to get straight edges. When you have a nice square or rectangle, you're done. It's as simple as that. The cut edges of fabric won't fray. This is a no-frills blanket, but it's still soft and cozy. For details, follow steps 1-3 of our instructions.
Simple Fringe Blanket - This blanket requires two more steps to dress it up a bit. Follow steps 1-5 of our instructions. You decide the length and width of the fringe. For an infant blanket, you may like a 1-2" fringe length. For larger blankets, a 2-4" length is nice. The fringe width can be 1/2" or wider. Anything narrower than 1/2" is prone to tearing off.
Looped Fringe Blanket - While the fringe on the simple fringe blanket lays flat, the fringe on this blanket has a little more character. It's still very simple to make using steps 1-7 of our instructions. Kids tend to like this version better. It's more fun to cuddle up to and more fun to make.
Knotted Two-Layer Blanket - This is probably the nicest looking blanket, but it may be too warm for some climates. Begin by choosing two coordinating fleece fabrics. You may use a pattern and a solid, two solids, or even two patterns. Lay one piece on top of the other - wrong sides together - and pin them. Follow steps 1-5 of our instructions cutting both pieces of fabric at the same time. Cut the strips 4" long. Next, simply tie the strips together, and you're done. Don't you love it?
