You might be surprised by how much money you can raise if you set your mind to it. Following are some ideas for getting donations.
Movie Night - Plan a movie night at your house, and sell tickets to friends and family for charity. Suggest a donation equal to the cost of going to the movie theater - ticket, popcorn and drink - but you provide the movie, snack and drinks.
Raffle - Make a no-sew blanket or other item and sell raffle tickets at church, at school, or to friends of your parents or family.
Yard Work - Offer your services to family members and neighbors. You can pick weeds, rake leaves or cut grass for a donation.
Put on a Show - Gather some talented friends and have a play, talent show, ballet or singing presentation for charity. Sell tickets to family and friends.
Friends Night Out - Go skating, play miniature golf, or go bowling. Whatever you do, let everyone know it's for fun and charity. Everyone can add $1 (or more) to his or her admission price for your cause.
Bake Sale - Make cookies, cupcakes, muffins and other goodies to sell.
Spare Change Drive - Ask friends, family, neighbors and church members to save their spare change for a month. They won't miss the amount they drop in each day, but it will really add up for the charity you support!
Spa Treatments - Do you know someone in need of pampering? Offer a pedicure, manicure or mini massage.
Extra Chores at Home - We should all help at home without expecting to be paid. Families have to work together to get everything done. But, if you do more than your share of chores, you might be able to earn some money for charity. You have many options: fold laundry, clean windows, vacuum, water plants, dust, wash dishes or clean a bathroom.
Clean Another House - Maybe your grandparents, aunt or neighbor would enjoy a week without cleaning. Offer your services in exchange for a donation to your charity.
Babysit - Take care of a younger sibling or another child.
